Creating RSS FeedsRSS feeds (one of the definitions is "Really Simple Syndication") are small streams of data used to summarize news articles. You'll typically see RSS feeds in web news sites, web magazines, or maybe on other blog pages. Unlike simple web pages, anyone can use a newsreader (like NewsFire or NetNewsWire) to subscribe to news feeds and receive notifications of when new articles are published. You can create your own news feed for friends and family; when you post a new article, the new headline will pop up in their news reader, whether they are on a Mac or a PC. It can't be much easier to create a news or RSS feeds of your blog. To create your own, simply check the box on your "Template & Publish" pane, and Blog.Mac automatically creates and publishes an RSS feed of all articles in your blog. Now that you can publish your blog in RSS format, you can check out the feed using Safari (click on the blue "RSS" logo in the address bar) or open the feed using your favorite news reader. |
