Adding a Profile Image
Setting an image to show in the profile block is easy.
- If you already have an image that you want to show in the "About Me" section of your blog, you need to save it in your iDisk in the "Sites" folder (or any folder inside Sites).
- Use an application like iPhoto to select the image you want to use
- Crop the area you want and change the image settings to decrease the file size; try to keep your image less than 50kB in size
- Save the new image to your iDisk in the "Sites/blog/images" folder
- If you don't have an image, you can use Blog.Mac to capture one.
- Select the main blog window, connect your iSight or DV Camera, and click the "On" button next to the preview window.
- When you're happy with your preview image, click the "Capture" button.
- If the snapshot looks good, click the "Save As..." button. Blog.Mac created a folder ("Sites/blog/user_files") that would be perfect for the image. Choose a file name without any spaces or special characters.
- If you closed your eyes, or want to try again, click the "Preview" button to restart the camera preview and try again.
- Make sure your blog page document is open in Blog.Mac and select the Blog & Author Info pane.
- Click the "Browse" button next to the "Author Image Path" text field.
- Navigate to the location of your profile image (usually your iDisk in the "Sites/blog/user_files") and Open the image you want displayed.
- The path of the image is entered in the field. Save your blog document and re-publish the page to check your work."
