Creating your first Blog on .Mac has never been easier. Just follow these simple steps:
- Select "File → New Blog" from the menu.
- A new blog document opens; on the left side is a navigation table that allows you to select various sections of your blog.
- Start with the "Blog Information" section. Edit any information you want, but don't check the "Also ping blog search engines..." block, and leave the "Haloscan" section blank.
- Next, select the "Owner" section. Change any information you want, but leave the Owner Image section blank for now.
- Select the "Articles" pane, click on the "+" button at the bottom left of the articles table. Edit the title by double-clicking it in the table and then edit the article content in the editing window below. Keep it simple, the click the Preview button on the far right to check the formatting of your article.
- Click the triangle next to the "Sidebar" section to show the contents of the sidebar.
- Since this is your first blog, just check out each section to see what options you have.
- Now click on the "Template and Preview" pane, and select a pre-installed template that you like.
- Select "File → Save" from the menu. Give your blog a simple file name, without any spaces or special characters in the title (like "stevesblog").
- Click the "Publish to .Mac" button in the toolbar.
That's all! Your blog is rendered and uploaded to your .Mac account. You will see a dialog box that distracts your attention long enough for the file to upload to .Mac; when you dismiss it, your default web browser opens up to your new blog page.
